Ballintemple Village has unveiled the cutest tribute to its Oscar-winning local
This is super cute.
Cork actor Cillian Murphy has slayed his way through awards season this year, but the latest gold award might be the one that means the most.
Back here in his hometown, the village where he grew up has just unveiled its own special tribute to the first-ever Irish-born winner of the Oscar for Best Actor.
“Ballintemple Village Postbox painted gold in celebration following a well-deserved Oscar win by a local.” the community posted on social media.

“Cillian Murphy Best Actor #Oscars2024.”
As Murphy joins a list of legendary previous winners that includes Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Tom Hanks, Rober DeNiro, Will Smith, Joaquin Phoenix and Matthew McConaughey in Hollywood history, we’re pretty sure they didn’t get the same treatment back in Ballintemple.
