Arty’s Bar opens in Ballincollig in October – here’s everything you need to know

It’s a great day for the parish.
Ballincollig’s 20,000 residents are in for a treat this October, with a brand new bar set to open in a few weeks’ time.
The latest project by Cork bar guru and all-round primo publican Benny McCabe, Arty’s Bar will open this autumn, taking over the space previously held by Sam’s.
Announcing the news on Facebook, McCabe promised the people of Ballincollig “an honest pub serving award winning beer by Rising Sons Brewery and others” with a colossal gin selection and a whiskey collection “worthy of a king”.
Dog friendly
“There shall be history, horses, hurling, rugby, soccer and more, accompanied by mighty bartenders and banter galore. The odd child or dog will be allowed subject to owners supervision. Pensioners will be delighted with our offers.
“We promise never to play techno, banging house or any musical scutter but will provide accomplished musicians and DJs for you musical enjoyment, we won’t let you down.”
The new spot will be a welcome addition to the village main street, joining the Tradehouse, the Darby and Mary O’Connell’s in the mix before Christmas.
Legendary city Chinese restaurant Tung Sing is also opening a 100-seat eatery upstairs at Sam’s, with a new Jam Café also choosing Ballincollig as the location for their newest launch.
They’re hiring too…
Looking for a job at Ballincollig’s new hot spot, Arty’s Bar? There’s a few of those going too:
“We are looking for a few good bartending allrounders to join our crew, preferably thick skinned, preference given to those least likely to take offence. Other than that all welcome to apply.”
