We love these little city oases.
The latest Parklet to pop up in town is now ready for planting over on Wandesford Quay, in one of the most creative neighbourhoods in the city.
Positioned right outside The Lavitt Gallery, the riverside wooden seating area is also near Cork Printmakers, Backwater Artists Group and the Crawford College of Art and Design, which is around the corner on Sharman Crawford Street.

Hand-built and installed by the talented folks at Benchspace Cork, previous city parklets on Cook Street, Sullivan’s Quay, Douglas Street, in Douglas and Ballincollig Villages and outside The Imperial Hotel on the South Mall have proven a roaring success, converting a few parking spaces into an inviting public green space for residents and passers-by to sit, relax, and interact.
The new Parklet is likely to get plenty of use later this month during Design POP, when a huge variety of talks will be held at the festival’s outdoor HQ – The Courtyard at Cork Printmakers on Wandesford Quay, from Friday, August 27th – Sunday, August 29th, 2021.
