Aldi is selling a nifty fold-up bike that you can pop in the boot of your car

Cycling is having a moment.
With foreign holidays cancelled, more people than ever are dusting off the old bicycle and exploring the Cork countryside and coast. The lockdown has also seen an increase in people turning to cycling as an alternative to using public transport.
Now Aldi has announced it’s about to bring in a bike that could make your new hobby even more convenient.
On Thursday, August 6th, the discount supermarket will be selling a Folding Bike for €349.99 in all 142 Aldi stores nationwide.
“A folding bike is any bicycle that is designed to fold down into a more compact form, making it easier to carry, store away, or fit into areas that you normally can’t take a regular bike,” said an Aldi spokesperson.
“They are multimodal bikes, as you can transport them from the boot of your car to the train or bus and then cycle the rest of the way!”
Features include folding pedals and alloys with magnetic knobs for easy collapse, reflectors on pedals, mudguard and tyres and a bell, pump, kickstand and carrying bag included.
