What a day out.
The crafty islanders of Sherkin are hosting their first Christmas Craft Market on the West Cork island this year, in what they hope will be an annual affair going forward.
A mix of islanders and mainlanders specialising in arts and crafts with crochet, knitting, Christmas Cards, paper decorations, jewellery, handmade dolls, and more will have unique pieces available at the market on December 7th.
The event will be hosted in the Community Hall, which is located a mere 10-minute walk from the pier and just a stone’s throw away from two beaches- Cow Strand and the Silver Strand so you can enjoy a walk along these fine sand after a trip to the market.
There will also be plenty of baked goods, homemade confectionery products, teas, and coffee with food as well on the day followed by kids activities in the evening,
If you’re looking to make a day and night out of it, the Sherkin North Shore B&B is open and welcoming guests. Head back across the waters to Baltimore Village for a pint.
The first Sherkin Island Christmas Craft Market takes place on Thursday, December 7th from 12pm to 5pm.
