A Ukrainian nine-year-old can hear again, thanks to the kindness of a Cork audiologist

Well, this just made our day.
Nine-year-old Matvii Kitsenko from Ukraine has received the life-changing gift of new hearing aids, and it’s all thanks to the kindness of one Cork audiologist.
Matvii, who fled war-torn Ukraine with his family, approached Hidden Hearing’s Joe O’Sullivan in Midleton about his hearing difficulties, which were diagnosed before the war began.
After seeking refuge in Ireland, Matvii struggled to adapt and had issues with the language barrier due to his hearing difficulty.
Now, thanks to a set of innovative bluetooth Oticon More hearing aids gifted to him by Hidden Hearing, Matvii will be able to hear more clearly.
“Thanks to Hidden Hearing my nine-year-old son can now begin to live a new life.” said Matviis mum Natalia Kitsenko.
“His speech will improve, he will be more confident, be able to make friends, but most importantly he will be happy!
“I’m so grateful to be in Ireland and to have met such kind sincere people.”
Dolores Madden, Audiologist and Marketing Director with Hidden Hearing said the company was delighted to be able to gift Matvii his groundbreaking digital aids.
“With the innovative Oticon More the sound quality is so sharp Matvii will be able to hear his teacher and friends so much better in the classroom. This will improve his speech understanding from his teacher and the surround sound will enable him to overcome the language barrier he is currently experiencing.
“He will also be able to do really cool things like link to his phone!” she added.
