A string quartet will play the music from The Lord of the Rings by candlelight at UCC

Middle-earth is calling.
If you still get chills when the Shire theme swells or feel your heart race at the first notes of The Fellowship of the Ring, this one’s for you.
Film fans and Hobbit buffs alike are in for something special as the music of The Lord of the Rings trilogy is brought to life by a string quartet — performed by the warm glow of candlelight, no less, at the Aula Maxima, UCC.
It’s a chance to step out of the ordinary world and back into Tolkien’s epic, one unforgettable note at a time, on Sunday, March 8th. Tickets start at €27.50 and the event is open to film fans aged eight and older.
The programme reads like a musical journey through Middle-earth itself, weaving together the most powerful and beloved moments from all three films. From the ominous opening of One Ring to Rule Them All and the gentle warmth of Concerning Hobbits, to the sweeping drama of The Riders of Rohan and the heart-stopping charge of The Ride of the Rohirrim, the line-up captures every mood of the trilogy.
“This exclusive tribute concert, performed by a talented string quartet, will bring the unforgettable music from the films to life.” say the organisers, events company Fever.
“Join us for a night that celebrates the music behind the heroic journey of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.”
