Just as we were topping up our sunscreen.
It looks like Cork’s mini heatwave is about to come to a soggy end for now; Met Éireann just issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for Cork, Kilkenny, Wexford, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
According to forecasters we can expect “heavy thundery rain this evening and overnight with accumulations of 20 to 30mm.”
And there’s more: Met Éireann expects that the torrential downpours could even lead to spot flooding in places, although it will stay warm and humid overnight with lows of 12 to 16 degrees.
