A popular Cobh coffee shop reopens today in a brand new location (across the road)

Cobh’s Wholey Ground has moved.
The busy coffee shop has been serving up the goods at No. 5 Midleton Street for nearly four years but has now taken over Jack Doyle’s at No. 19 Midleton Street across the road, which opens today.
The former pub closed down in January after owners Ger and Catherine Curley retired after 17 years behind the bar. With the licence sold, the atmospheric building is a prime spot for a buzzy café.
In the last few weeks, the place has been given a Wholey Ground makeover:
“New floors are down and the old bar has had a facelift thanks to master craftsman Ross Courtney Carpentry.” the team revealed.

The premises has been painted too and with a brand new sign above the door, they’re ready to welcome their delighted fans back inside for Golden Bean coffee and freshly baked cakes, scones, sandwiches and goodies.
“We’re gonna operate under the usual hours of 8am-3pm for the moment, but we’ve got some big plans a little bit down the line, we’ll keep ye informed on this! We can’t wait to welcome ye into our new gaff!!” they added.
The Wholey Ground’s horse box at Cobh’s Coral Leisure Centre will be closed on Wednesday and will re-open again on Thursday.
