A lavender farm is coming to Cork City with yoga, movie nights and dinner parties

It’ll be open just in time for next summer.
Planting is underway at the first lavender farm in Cork city, with plans to run a variety of glorious outdoor events at the site near Ballyvolane in 2025.
The company behind the project, Cork Rooftop Farm, is hoping to capitalise on Cork’s insatiable appetite for the fragrant purple flower, following sell-out events at other venues such as Seven Heads Lavender Farm in Courtmacsherry.
The booming urban farm business, run by Brian McCarthy, has already been putting together a creative schedule of events for the venue:
“We’ll be looking to do movie nights, concerts, pop-up meals, lavender picking, corporate events, drama, comedy, yoga, you name it within the lavender field and co-ordinate with full tours of the farm also to bring the message of organic growing to the people of Cork,” Bryan told Yay Cork.
Cork Rooftop Farm is also about to harvest a three-acre sunflower field, which was seeded in late June. The beautiful yellow blooms will soon be available to florists all over Ireland through Central Floral Supplies.
Lavender is generally ready to harvest in late June, depending on the weather, so watch this space for updates in the New Year.
