A huge flash choir is happening next Friday – and everyone’s invited

Warm up those vocal chords.
Even if you only sing in the shower, an upcoming event in Cork City Hall is inviting locals to belt out a chorus with wild abandon as park of a huge bespoke choir.
The Big Sing will take place in Cork City Hall on Friday, April 20th at 12.15pm.
The best bit? You need zero experience (or talent) to join in.
Conducted by award winning conductor Bernie Sherlock, the choir will be created by the audience in attendance.
There’ll be no Simon Cowell judgement here – it’s free to enjoy, music and lyrics will be handed out on the day and everyone is guaranteed to have a fabulous, fun afternoon.
It’s all part of the Cork International Choral Festival, which will take place two weeks earlier this year from April 18th-22nd, due to the Ed Sheeran concert in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Almost 3,500 world class singers and 35,000 visitors from across Ireland, Europe and beyond will descend on Cork for the 64th annual Festival, a celebration of all genres of music and song from classical to sacred, pop, and rock.

In the meantime, add a few scales to your bathroom performances to prepare.
