A Halloween Costume Swap? That’s a frighteningly clever idea – here are the deets

Samhain is an inbetween time.
The veil between the living and the dead is thinnest at Halloween, making it the perfect time to let go of what no longer serves you.
For some that may be relationships, for some it may be mindsets, and for others, it’s most definitely old clothes and last year’s Halloween costume.
If you’re sick of falling back on the same old look in the run-up to spooky season, the folks over at Cork Clothes Swap are helping you to be someone else entirely this year with a swap at St Peter’s Church on Saturday, October 14th.
Alongside their costume swap, there will also be the usual clothes swap taking place and fashion fixers will be on hand to help you repair those slightly-worn gems in your wardrobe.
“At our bigger swaps (i.e St. Peters) we have Fashion Fixers who you can consult about any repair or alteration questions you have. This is inspired by the movement Fixing Fashion Community,” said the Cork Clothes Swap crew on Instagram.

As usual, you can bring along up to five picks (washed and dried) from your own collection to trade for something else on the day and swappers are kindly reminded that swimwear, underwear, or PJs as well as shoes, accessories, bags are not accepted due to hygiene and storage reasons.
While also being kind to the environment, it’s also an inflation buster: the Cork Clothes Swap is a free event– no cash necessary.
