A fire closed the doors of their bar for now, but L’Atitude 51 has a new temporary home

The show must go on.
Now, thanks to one popular Cork cafe, L’Atitude 51 have a venue to host the next installment of their Spring Wine Series this week.
The Union Quay wine bar was damaged by an early morning fire on St Patrick’s Day. Thankfully nobody was injured but the doors will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
But all is not lost; the L’Atitude crew have announced that their ‘Coastal Wines’ evening will go ahead on Thursday, April 4th in Idaho Cafe on Caroline Street.

Posting on Facebook, the team wrote:
“Big thanks to Mairead and Richard of Idaho Cafe for saving the day and trusting us with their wonderful cafe to hold this 3rd tasting in the Winter Wine Series.
“The Winter Wine Series focuses on the landscape around where grapes are grown and how it influences wine style. Last month we looked at volcanoes and how the unique volcanic soil structure impacts grape growing. In this third tasting we will look at coasts and more specifically wines that are directly influenced by the sea or by mists or breezes coming off the sea.”
There are a few spaces left (tickets €20), so if you’d like to join the pop-up tasting at Idaho, email info@latitude51.ie. The fun begins at 7pm.
