A Douglas Street coffee shop captured footage of a guy attempting a break-in

It was a blundering effort.
But a brazen would-be robber who attempted to break through the door of Douglas Street coffee shop Cafe Moly last night has been captured on CCTV.
Luckily the man, who ambled past the business wearing a hoodie, a hat, sweatpants, gloves and trainers and carrying a rucksack before slamming his fist on the door, was not successful.
The whole thing was clearly captured on camera here:

“Don’t forget our weekend opening hours! This poor fella obviously couldn’t wait until morning.” the café owners, Daniel and Sunmi, posted on Instagram, choosing a lighthearted take on the incident.
“Saturdays: 09:00 – 16:00, Sundays 10:00 – 16:00. Also, it should go without saying, but we don’t actually keep our bars of gold, Rolexes and Fabergé Eggs in the shop, so save yourself the trouble!”
Fans of the café were quick to post their reactions to the break-in, which left the glass in the front door of the business shattered on Saturday morning, one of the busiest days of the week.
Hopefully the Gardaí will find the culprit. In the meantime, we’ll be dropping by to support (and pick up one of their delicious mochas) this week.
