A Cork engineer is dishing up real advice on building and renovating in a new podcast

Considering building or renovating this year?
In his new podcast, Cork engineer and TV presenter Kieran McCarthy will be sharing stories from people who have already set out on the journey, offering a treasure trove of insider knowledge and pro tips for anyone looking to build or upgrade their home.
Midleton-born McCarthy, who appeared in RTÉ’s super popular show Cheap Old Houses, will share his knowledge from 25 years in the industry in Built Around You, which launches soon.
The podcast will see Kieran interviewing and advising couples who are setting off on their home build or renovation adventure, with plenty of relatable stories and real advice for people embarking on this exciting new chapter in their lives.
“The problem with construction is that everyone worries about their own trade; the block layer about the masonry, the tiler about the tiling, and the designer about the plans; no one really concerns themselves with what is most important to the end client,” says Kieran.
The UCC Civil Engineering grad hopes the show will return the focus to the building customer, their needs, and their journey.
