A bunch of Cork cafés got a shout out in the world’s most popular coffee publication

Cork coffee lovers have it good.
We know that, but visitors are picking up on it too, bringing global attention to the city’s burgeoning bean scene.
Now US food writer Paolo Bicchieri has been singing the city’s praises for Sprudge, the world’s most popular coffee publication.
Published this week, The Sprudge Guide To Coffee In Cork, Ireland covers “a wide swath through much of Cork proper, though in 2018 the technical boundaries of the municipal area swelled to include nearby Douglas and Ballincollig to name a few.
“No matter as there’s something for all the coffee heads headed to the Rebel City.”
Every week, a new globetrotting guide to the world of coffee shops appears on Sprudge. This week we’re in Cork, Ireland. https://t.co/g0qIAobRk7 pic.twitter.com/VMZAe7LD6y

Kicking off in the VQ with Brian Mills’ spot, Ború, “arguably the first excellent coffee shop one encounters if they hop off the train at Kent Station to travel to the city”, the reviewers also name check Cafe Moly on Douglas Street, Eoin McCarthy and Alex O’Callahan’s Filter cafés, and Three Fools on the Grand Parade.
Later they head up Barrack Street to rave about Alchemy Coffee and head back down to Cornmarket Street for a Stone Valley at Plugd.
Plenty of shout outs for some of our finer tourist attractions too, including Nano Nagle Place, Elizabeth Fort and the Michael Collins statue on the Grand Parade.
