A 24-hour Status Orange weather warning for Cork kicks in at 6pm

Yep, the summer’s finally over.
As the real September gets underway, Cork is about to be treated to some good old torrential rain in the coming days.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange – Rain warning for Cork, kicking in at 6pm this evening.
“From Thursday evening to Friday evening, persistent and heavy rain will lead to localised flooding, poor visibility and very difficult travelling conditions.” said the forecaster.
Wonderful.
The alert will remain in place from 6pm Thursday until 6pm on Friday.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow – Rain warning remains in place for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Wicklow, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford.
The forecast is looking unsettled with outbreaks of rain or showers on most days for the rest of the weekend, with the exception of a mostly dry day on Saturday.
