This under-the-radar West Cork dining series is worth planning a trip around

When it comes to Cork staycations, west is best.
And if you’re plotting a few food-focused road trips this summer, here’s one to quietly add to your list — because it might just be one of the most special (and under-the-radar) dining experiences in West Cork.
After a standout debut last year, Goleen Harbour’s Summer Pop-Up Series is making a return, bringing a rotating lineup of seriously exciting chefs to one of the most scenic spots along the coast.
Rather than a fixed menu or permanent kitchen, each weekend hands the reins to a different guest chef or team, meaning no two events will be the same. The focus is firmly on the moment — what’s in season, what’s nearby, and how each chef chooses to interpret it.
This year’s lineup is particularly strong, featuring:
- Almost Anywhere (May 15th & 16th)
- The Glass Curtain (July 5th & 6th)
- Leviathan Food (July 11th & 12th)
- Pádraig Nagle × Epi Rogan (August 8th & 9th)
- Iyer’s (August 13th & 14th)
Expect everything from fire-led cooking to creative, produce-driven plates — all shaped by the landscape surrounding the harbour.

What makes this series stand out isn’t just the food (though that alone is worth the trip), but the atmosphere. These are small, carefully curated gatherings where the setting does as much of the talking as the menu. Think sea air, sunset light, and the kind of slow evenings that stretch long into the night.
Tickets won’t hang around long. Signing up to the Goleen Harbour newsletter is your best bet for getting in early.
