Fancy starting 2026 with something new?

If you have some free time in January, you could help a local film crew for a couple of days and nab yourself a mention in the credits.

Written by Megan Haly and Shannon Haly, directed by Shannon Haly, and produced by Emily Power, Show Pony is a short film supported by Screen Ireland and produced by Cork company Heritage.ie.

The story follows Claire who, mid-drag performance at a queer bar in Cork, is shocked to see her traditional Catholic Nana in the crowd. A conversation slowly unfolds between them backstage, where they discover that they have a lot more in common than either of them ever imagined.

The team will be filming in Cork on Sunday, January 11th to Tuesday, January 13th and they’re seeking from Cork businesses to help with catering, accommodation and transport and local folks who might like to be an extra in the film.

If you can help out, email info@heritage.ie to find out how you can get involved.
