Triskel Cinema just announced the full line-up of Christmas movies for 2025

The festive season is already looking brighter for film fans.
Triskel Arts Centre on South Main Street has unveiled its full Christmas cinema programme for 2025 — and yes, Die Hard is officially on the list.
A long-standing seasonal favourite at Triskel, Die Hard returns alongside cherished classics It’s a Wonderful Life and The Muppet Christmas Carol with daytime tickets available from just €7.50.
This year’s line-up includes new additions, as well as a rich programme of live music and art history lectures to round out the festive offering.
Cinema-goers will get to choose their favourite Scrooge with two adaptations of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on offer — the 1951 version starring Alastair Sims, and the much-loved family favourite Muppet Christmas Carol featuring Michael Caine.
Other featured films include Home Alone and the 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street starring Richard Attenborough and Mara Wilson.
A new tradition
Chris O’Neill, Head of Cinema at Triskel, said the programme has become an annual tradition for many:
“Watching these classic films has become part of people’s Christmas traditions over the years. It’s important to us to keep that alive — to let audiences escape into the adventures of Kermit and Miss Piggy, cheer on John McClane in the Nakatomi building, or join Kevin McCallister and George Bailey in rediscovering the value of family and community.”
The season opens on Friday, November 28th with a special concert from guitarist Eamonn Walsh, joined by guest performers including Cork musicians Georgina Cassidy (pianist), Anna Marie Sheehan (soprano) and James O’Sullivan, supported by a local string ensemble.
Internationally recognised Cork musician Fionnuala Moynihan takes to the stage on Friday, December 12th, performing works by Chopin alongside her own arrangements of traditional Christmas carols.
Tickets are available now from triskelartcentre.ie.
