Cork tattoo shop launches Christmas Toy Drive to support CUH Children’s Unit

By Yay Cork November 21, 2025November 21, 2025

Smiley Dogg is hoping to put smiles on kids’ faces this Christmas.

The Cork tattoo studio is calling on locals—and especially the city’s ink enthusiasts—to help bring some festive magic to young patients at Cork University Hospital.

Smiley Dogg Tattoo has launched its fifth annual Christmas Toy Drive & Raffle, with every donation going directly to the CUH Heroes and the Children’s Unit.

Running from now until December 22nd, the campaign invites customers to bring a new toy worth at least €5 (with proof of purchase) to their appointment on North Main Street or Oliver Plunkett Street. Each donation earns raffle entries, with bigger gifts earning extra chances to win:

  • €5–€14.99: 1 ticket

  • €15–€29.99: 2 tickets

  • €30+: 3 tickets

And the prizes are more than a little tempting. The top raffle winner will receive a €500 Smiley Dogg gift card, perfect for anyone planning fresh ink in the new year. Other prizes include a two-night stay at Cottages for Couples and a €100 Christmas hamper from The English Market.

For those not booked in for a tattoo session, the studio is still encouraging the public to get involved: anyone can drop in with a toy donation and take part in the raffle under the same rules.

The toy delivery is scheduled for December 23rd, bringing some extra cheer to children spending the holiday season in hospital.

Smiley Dogg says the annual initiative (more details here) continues to grow thanks to the generosity of Cork locals: “A huge thank you to everyone taking part and helping us bring smiles to those who need them most this Christmas. Your help truly means the world.”

With the countdown to Christmas underway, the studio hopes this year’s drive will be the biggest yet—so if you’ve been thinking about adding to your tattoo collection or simply want to spread some festive goodwill, now’s the perfect time to get involved.
