A Status Yellow weather warning is in place nationwide until 5pm this evening and ‘extreme caution’ is advised in the coastal districts of Clare, Connacht and Donegal.

According to Met Eireann, ‘Rain, with some heavy bursts this morning, will clear and turn to sunny spells and showers this afternoon’ across Munster.

Winds will gradually ease later in the day too with maximum temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.

It will be a little chillier than we’re used to overnight with lows of six to nine degrees.
