This Sing & Stretch Retreat blends relaxing yoga and joyous singing

You don’t need to be good at it to get the benefits.
Studies have shown that singing can decrease the levels of cortisol, the primary stress hormone, in your bloodstream, leading to feelings of relaxation.
Now a new Sing & Stretch Retreat at the end of April could show you how to harness the benefits with a side of wellbeing, music, and unique retreat experiences in Cork.
Taking place on April 27th at the peaceful Barnahown B&B, near the Galtee Mountains in Mitchelstown, this retreat blends restorative yoga and group singing for wellbeing, offering a deeply relaxing and uplifting experience.
It’s designed for anyone—whether they consider themselves a singer or not—who wants to explore the joy of singing in a supportive, stress-free environment.
So what’s the plan for the day?
There will be no sheet music, just simple harmonies and learning by ear. Some restorative yoga will help release tension and group singing will boost the mood and strengthen social bonds.
“As a Singing Mamas leader, I’ve spent years fostering community singing groups focused on wellbeing, bringing people together through music.” says retreat host Tara Mestre.
“This retreat offers a chance for Cork-based people to step away from daily stress, experience the transformative power of music and movement, and return feeling refreshed and uplifted.”
The retreat takes place in Barnahown Contemporary B&B, Mitchelstown on April 27th from 12pm to 5pm and tickets are €95 including lunch.
