Bring your pre-loved toys to The Toy Library’s Circular Christmas swap event
Ready for some sustainable holiday fun?
The Toy Library has announced details of a Circular Christmas Toy Swap happening in the city on Sunday, November 10th, 2024.
Cork County Cricket Club on Mardyke Walk will be transformed into a Teddy Bear Hospital staffed by UCC’s Surgeon Noonan Society on the day, where old toys can be taken for a refresh and a festive wrapping station will be set up using sustainable materials.
The best bit? An abundance of free toys will be available for all visitors to explore and take home.

It’s the perfect opportunity to try a new toy or two without putting your hand in your pocket or contributing to the problem of toy waste, which sees the majority of toys end up in landfills, incinerators or oceans.
The idea also makes playtime more sustainable and accessible for all children, which we can all agree is a fine and worthy endeavour.
The Toy Swap Event will run from 11am to 3pm on the day. All you have to do to go along is register for a free pass here.
Even if you can’t make the event you can still check out The Toy Library, which invites families to share, swap or find toys via a free online platform. Families can list a pre-loved toy and give it to another child or find a toy to give to their child.
