Cork Opera House cancels two Royal Moscow Ballet performances of Swan Lake

Customers will be contacted about refunds.
Cork Opera House has announced its decision to cancel two performances by the Royal Moscow Ballet in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The ballet company had been scheduled to perform Swan Lake twice on Sunday, February 27th, taking to the stage at 2.30pm and 8pm.
“It is with great sorrow and regret to our patrons and artists that we have been forced by the tragic circumstances in Ukraine to cancel both of tomorrow’s performances of Swan Lake by Royal Moscow Ballet.” the theatre said in a statement.
“The Board of Cork Opera House deeply regret that this decision impacts artists, namely the dancers of this company who hail from all over the world and who have worked hard to make a beautiful show for Irish audiences.
“We are also aware of the impact of this decision on the promoter who is a longstanding and trusted colleague. However, we must stand together in solidarity with the people of Ukraine at this terrible time.”
