It’s been a children’s bestseller for decades.
Now Cork kids will get a chance to see the Rod Campbell classic Dear Zoo brought to life on the Cork Opera House stage.
A must-see for fans of the book, Dear Zoo comes to Cork from Saturday, August 9th until Monday, August 11th, with a selection of performance times now open for booking and trust us; there’s some serious fun in store.

Aimed at children aged from two years old up, this family favourite is brought to life by Norwell Lapley Productions.
Rod Campbell is the master of interactive storytelling and an expert in early learning for pre-schoolers. As a trusted household name, his books have stood the test of time and continue to be a staple addition to the family bookshelf and a popular choice for early years’ teachers.
“See our characters write to the Zoo. Who will be delivered? A cheeky monkey, a jumpy frog and of course a perfect puppy.” the company behind the play told us.

“Help your children learn as the book leaps onto the stage and share a magical experience as the story unfolds with child-engaging puppets, music and lots of audience interaction.”
“Join us to see what the zoo has sent: the perfect pet–in the end!”
Dear Zoo at Cork Opera House runs for 55 minutes with no interval. Performances will take place at 11am and 2pm (ideal for parents seeking daytime activities or birthday party ideas and grandparents, godparents, fun aunties and uncles on babysitting duty).
Do note that the production may contain strobe lighting, flashing lights, smoke and haze. All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets (€20 for adults and €17 for kids, with Family Tickets €68) can be booked now here.
