Meet new mates over coffee and a stroll at the Sunrise Social Walk ‘n’ Talk

It’s not easy to make new friends.
In fact, with more and more companies operating on a work-from-home basis, it can be downright impossible to widen your social circle, especially if you’re new to Cork.
Now one cheery local group is on a mission to create a regular opportunity for coffees and chats.
Sunrise Social is a global movement started by Co. Down native Caroline McKenna in Sydney, Australia during the lockdown. A simple idea, it has since taken off all over the world with Sunrise Social groups popping up everywhere from Brisbane to Belfast.
Now a group of Cork volunteers is taking up the mantel on Leeside, with the first open event, a ‘Walk ‘n’ Talk’, scheduled for Sunday, February 27th at the Marina Market.
“We are planning to organise walks, hikes, and brunches.” Kinsale-based volunteer Ailish Moore told Yay Cork.

“I think after the last two years it’s all about bringing people together, making new friends, and going on adventures. Our first event is a coffee and a walk but we have loads of other ideas planned and of course, sunrise walks too.”
The ‘Walk ‘n’ Talk’ meets at the Marina Market on Sunday, February 27th at 11am.
