There’s some new stalls in the English Market (ideal if you need some gifting inspo)

By Christina Collins November 29, 2021November 29, 2021

It’s pure Cork, like.

The crew behind The Roughty Foodie in The English Market have opened a brand new stall directly across the way… and they’re selling all things Cork-made.

Opened just in time for Christmas, The Roughty’s little sister stocks a wide range of flowers and plants as well as Irish gift boxes, local cheeses, beauty products, and hampers – just the spot if you’re in need of a little gifting inspiration.

The “Pure Cork” hamper, available online and in-store, includes Cork Raw Irish Honey, Coolea Cheese Gouda Style, Seymour’s Savoury Biscuits, O’Conáíl’s Hot Chocolate and West Cork Coffee.

Also available are Irish chocolate gift boxes, local craft and food books, and the wonderful organic skincare products from the Boggeragh mountains in County Cork, Little Red.

Check out their new stall in the English Market or their website for more info.

Coming soon…

From the start of December, visitors to the market will be treated to an exciting new feelgood festive pop-up stall, ‘Comfort and Joy’, just inside the left-hand door of the Grand Parade entrance.

Sheila Fitzpatrick, owner of the Alternative Bread Company and Jenny Rose Clarke, owner of The Real Olive Company and Toonsbridge Dairy, have joined forces to bring the former “start-up stall” to life for the season, transforming it into a treasure trove of colourful gifts and delicious festive fare.

All the Olive Stall favourites will be there – choose from hampers presented in a gift box or one of their striking, signature bowls – along with a selection of beautiful ceramics, soaps and woven baskets.

Meanwhile ABC will be presenting Italian pannetoni, award-winning jewelled Christmas cakes, gluten-free puddings and of course the famous ABC mince pies in their distinctive triangular box (a special edition this year, redesigned to reflect the theme of Comfort and Joy) and a host of other traditional favourites.
