VIDEO: Small pod of dolphins spotted in the River Lee

Dolphins will always brighten your day.
Anyone passing through town yesterday (Monday, November 1st) had the opportunity of seeing a small pod of four or five dolphins swimming up the River Lee.
Videos taken from Pope’s Quay show the dolphins making their way along the river at around lunchtime yesterday.
According to the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group, the small pod spent around five hours in the area. The species has been verified as the common dolphin, thanks to their long beak and hourglass pattern.
The group thinks that while there may have been five dolphins, they have been able to identify three adults and one juvenile. The group also officially described the dolphins’ behaviour as “milling,” which is hilarious.
