Met Éireann forecast good beer garden weather for All-Ireland Final

“Beer garden weather” is our turn of phrase, by the way, not Met Éireann’s.
Whether you’re travelling to Croke Park this Sunday for Cork’s All-Ireland Final clash with Limerick, or watching from home, the weather is set to be warm and mostly dry.
In both regions, Met Éireann is forecasting that “bright intervals will develop after any mist or fog clears. There will be a good deal of dry weather and some scattered showers. It will be warm with highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees and light northerly breezes.”
However, it will be a nervy start to the weekend, with plenty of rain anticipated both tomorrow and on Saturday.
Friday will be cloudy and wet with spells of rain in all areas. The rain will be heavy enough in many areas to cause risk of spot flooding. In the evening, drier weather will develop in the west, but rain will continue further east.
Saturday’s weather will follow a similar pattern, with Met Éireann predicting “brighter weather with showers will follow from the west. The showers will become widespread and heavy through the afternoon and evening and some may be thundery with a risk of spot flooding.”
Thankfully, there is no suggestion of heavy showers or spot flooding for Sunday. Throw-in time for the game is 3.30pm.
