Some sunny weather on the way this weekend after a soul-crushing start

We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but…
After some sunny spells throughout today (Friday, August 13th), the weather will turn rather sour over the weekend – doubtlessly ruining any outdoor plans that you may have had for tomorrow.
Met Éireann’s forecast for Saturday reads: “Tomorrow will be a wet day with rain, with some heavy falls at times. However, it will ease and turn more showery through the evening.
“Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds, though becoming fresher on exposed coasts later.”
The rain is expected to continue overnight and into Sunday morning, but thankfully there is some reprieve on the way. “Showery rain, mainly affecting southern and eastern areas but will clear eastwards during the afternoon.
“Sunny spells and scattered showers elsewhere will extend to all areas as the rain clears. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees.”
Hopefully this will signal a turning point, as Monday morning is expected to be cool and cloudy with some sunny spells.
