Ringaskiddy café forced to shut its doors after spot flooding

By Carl Kinsella July 27, 2021July 27, 2021
Perry Street Market Cafe

Talk about bad luck for Perry Street Café.

As hundreds of venues reopen their doors this week in line with the latest Covid rules, Perry Street Café in Ringaskiddy have been forced to shut up shop today following a spot flood that left most of their seats ankle-deep in water.

May be an image of outdoors and text that says "Perry st CAFE RESTAURANT STORE T So thiš happened today"

Perry Street Café was one of many Cork locations which had reopened its indoor services yesterday before the flooding happened at around 5pm.

While the flooding is obviously unfortunate and disappointing, the café expressed thanks to the local community for coming to help brush out much of the water and help clean up.

In a statement of Facebook the café wrote:

“So this happened today…

“Unfortunately we had an incident with some unprecedented weather conditions today at our Ringaskiddy location and so will be unable to open tomorrow, Tuesday, July 27th.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the people in Ringaskiddy who yet again showed their amazing community spirit and pulled out all the stops to help us today- a fantastic community we are so proud to be part of.

“We will take tomorrow to get our business back on its feet and will reopen our doors Wednesday morning. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you soon!”
