THOUSANDS of moon jellyfish appear in the waters off Cobh

Did you see any of these fellas?
Thousands of moon jellyfish were spotted in Cobh yesterday, with videos surfacing online of the freaky little jellies swarming the place.
“The moon jellyfish, or moon jelly, is found throughout the world’s oceans. Around the size of a plate, it is recognisable by the four circles visible through the translucent white bell,” according to Wildlife Trusts. Thankfully, these lads don’t sting humans, and the four pink rings inside them are actually their “gonads.” Which is weird.
Footage from Cork suggests that they were everywhere yesterday. A video posted by Deora Dé Angling Deep Sea Angling Charters shows water absolutely teeming with pink rings, and photos from Spike Island show the same.
“Jellyfish infestation at Kennedy Pier, Cobh this afternoon, the entire camber the pier head and pontoon and their surrounds were infested with thousands of Jellyfish,” read the caption on this video.
A similar video was posted to Instagram by The Beanie Box cafe, with the page’s story showing what is surely thousands of jellyfish.
