“Take caution though on secondary routes, housing estates and sheltered locations around the country, as icy stretches are possible, and allow enough time to fully de-ice your vehicle before setting off.” the AA advised.
According to the latest report from Met Éireann, today will be very cold with sunny spells and isolated wintry showers of sleet or snow. Highest temperatures will reach just 1 to 3 degrees this afternoon.
Widespread sharp frost and icy stretches are forecast for tonight.
