This is the homegrown festive hamper to buy for the cider drinker in your life

Wondering how to please that certain tricky someone?

When all else fails, a foolproof rule of thumb for choosing the perfect Christmas gift for someone is to carefully consider the things they enjoy all year ’round.

Down at Longueville House, the 300-year-old foodie destination and hotel just outside Mallow, they’ve been fermenting exceptional craft cider and distilling Ireland’s only Apple Brandy now for almost 35 years.

Using only heritage, heirloom cider apples, namely Michelin (Normandy) and Dabinett (Somerset) grown in their natural orchards in the beautiful Blackwater Valley, this is where you’ll find everything you need to thrill the cider fan in your life, while supporting a really lovely family business.

If it’s a stocking filler you’re after, the Longueville House Hot Cider Kit (€16) is just the ticket.

The kit contains two bottles of Longueville House Cider, one miniature bottle of Longueville House Apple Brandy, a mulled spice tea bag and the house recipe for their Christmassy hot cider (best enjoyed outdoors wrapped in a cosy coat).

If you’re heading to someone’s home for Christmas dinner, bring along a handcrafted Longueville House Cider Caddy (€50, above). Each handpainted wooden caddy comes complete with six bottles of cider for sharing and you can even have your personalised for your lucky giftee.

You can also go the whole hog and fill your pantry with Longueville House goodies by ordering a hamper (€100) stuffed with one bottle of Longueville House Apple Brandy, two bottles of Longueville Mor, two bottles of Longueville House Cider, one bottle of apple cider vinegar, a tub of crunchy granola, a bottle of apple reduction and three jars of jam.

There are goodies in there for every meal of the day (and mouthwatering cocktails after dark).

Order online here.
