It looks like we’re getting every type of rain this week, according to Met Éireann

By Yay Cork November 9, 2020November 9, 2020

We’ve already been drenched over the weekend.

But Met Éireann is forecasting a full week of rain this week, with heavy showers, patchy rain, drizzle, mist, persistent rain and a chance of flooding in-store from today until Friday (and beyond).

This morning’s drizzle and mist will clear to a few sunny spells in the afternoon, with temperatures between 12 and 14 degrees through the day.

Tomorrow, Tuesday will be mostly dry with sunny spells, but forecasters say that later in the afternoon cloud will thicken in the west of the province as southerly winds freshen, bringing (you guessed it…) rain.

“On Tuesday night outbreaks of rain in the west will become heavy and persistent and spread eastwards overnight.” said forecasters.

“Wednesday will be a wet and windy day with a risk of spot flooding as rain turns heavy and persistent for a time. The strong southerly winds will ease later and temperatures will be between 11 and 13 degrees once again.”

Clear skies will see temperatures drop significantly on Wednesday night, down to between plus 1 and 3 degrees with a grass frost developing.

“Thursday will be a dry day with sunny spells at first, it’ll become cloudy later. A moderate southwest wind will freshen by Friday when another spell of heavy rain is expected.” says the national forecaster.

The unsettled weather is expected to continue into the weekend.
