Nash 19 will reopen on June 16th, with a newly expanded shop and takeout menu

There’s light at the end of the tunnel.
After eight weeks in lockdown, signs of life are beginning to sprout in the city centre, as Cork businesses make plans to reopen their doors to serve customers after restrictions begin to ease on May 18th.
Princes Street restaurant and grocery shop Nash 19 has announced it will reopen on June 16th, all going to plan.
The eatery, owned by Claire Nash, tweeted the news to customers, announcing that the premises, which has been open since 1992, is being renovated and expanded to offer more takeout options and coffee, as well as a click-and-collect online shop.

Coffee
On French Church Street, Cork Coffee Roasters has reopened its second café, after a successful trial at the original spot on Bridge Street.
Both cafés are now open from 8am to 4pm, with social distancing measures in place to keep customers safe while they wait for their caffeine fix.
Day 42 of #Lockdown: thank you @cork_coffee for the free latte in return for being the first to test their new reopening setup on French Church St this am. Confirm it’s as safe as could be & the coffee even better than I remember! #LoveCork #Cork #SupportLocal pic.twitter.com/eoF4vkIrd2

Cork’s hairdressers will reopen on July 20th, with many of them already overwhelmed with requests for appointments. New social distancing measures will see magazines removed from waiting areas and special times when people who have been cocooning during the crisis can safely arrange a visit.
Meanwhile, Paul Street, Tuckey Street and Pembroke Street will be temporarily pedestrianised to create adequate separation space for public health social distancing requirements. The idea could be rolled out across other streets in the city centre in the coming months.
The Marina is also set to become a car-free zone for three months during the summer.
