Up your kitchen game with a workshop in making samosas

By Yay Cork January 6, 2020January 6, 2020

The best samosas do not come in a box.

As all Indian chefs and cooks will agree, you will never achieve the perfect triangle of crispy pastry stuffed with spiced potato, peas, onion, peas or lentils by flinging a frozen version into the oven.

It’s sad but it’s true; if you want the real deal, you have to be prepared to do some cooking. Happily, there’s a workshop for that and it’s happening on Friday, January 17th, 2020.

The two-hour class, held at SensAsian Fare on the Link Road in Ballincollig from 6pm-8pm, will teach participants how to make two tasty samosas, both vegetarian.

Led by the team behind the shop, deli and ever-popular SensAsian stalls, which dish up mouthwatering party snacks, dumplings and dinners at Ballincollig and Mahon Point Farmer’s Markets, the class is designed to be a fun evening and it is suitable for wannabe cooks of all levels.

“We are going to show you how to make the homemade pastry, work on the dough and make authentic spicy potato Samosa (vegan).” they say.

“We will also do a fun contemporary version with spiced beetroot and feta cheese; they are all delicious and fantastic for dinner parties and get-togethers!”

Places are €30 (book here) and the price includes all ingredients, the tutorial and teas and coffees while you work.
