Temperatures are about to get seriously chilly in Cork, according to Met Éireann

We’ve had a mild start to winter so far.
It’s finally time to dig out the thermals however, as temperatures begin their descent to permanently wet and chilly for the rest of this week.
Here’s the story for the rest of the week; according to Met Éireann, today, Wednesday, will be mostly cloudy, with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle at first, and patches of mist.
A spell of persistent rain will extend eastwards across Munster in the afternoon and some of the showers may be heavy in western coastal areas, with a slight risk of thunder.
Mostly cloudy today, with scattered outbreaks of rain & drizzle. A spell of heavier rain will develop in the W&SW, extending gradually eastwards this afternoon & evening. Clearer conditions, with scattered showers, will follow later into west Munster & Connacht. Highs 7 to 10°C. pic.twitter.com/Hyynqb0Gvq

Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells but as temperatures drop as low as zero, it will be chilly, with a risk of frost.
Thursday will be a cold day too, with bright or sunny spells and occasional showers clearing to a mostly dry night, with more frost and a risk of icy patches.
“Changeable and unsettled weather will continue into the early days of next week (at least).” reports Met Éireann. “Remaining cold, with temperatures 2 to 3 degrees below normal and with a continuing risk of frost at night.”
Brrrr.
