6 killer midweek dinner deals you can find in Cork (for under €12)

Happy Hump Day.
The boring old midpoint of the average working week is fraught with emotion; the feeling you should be in the gym or working overtime, juxtaposed with the ‘feck-it’, devil-may-care lure of a pint.
Heading out for a midweek dinner is the perfect solution; get all your work and exercise out of the way early, then hit town for something delicious to eat, with no washing up to do after.
But wait; it gets even better: Many of Cork’s finest eateries do a mean dinner deal on weekdays.
Here’s six of the best to try this week:
1. Ribs Wednesday at Holy Smoke
Where: Little Hanover Street
Follow the scent of charred meats down the Mardyke to the Holy Smoke, where you can order yourself up a rack of pit smoked baby back ribs every Wednesday for €10. It even comes with a helping of house chips. Doors open at 5pm.

2. Test Kitchen at The East Village
Where: Douglas
Once a month, the chefs at the East Village in Douglas get extra creative in the kitchen, testing new dishes on lucky diners from 6pm until 9pm at a bargain €10 a plate. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for the next event.

3. Vegan Night at Pigalle Bar and Kitchen
Where: Barrack Street
Due to popular demand, Wednesdays are staying vegan at the newly relaunched Pigalle on Barrack Street. From 5pm, the kitchen serves up colourful helpings of exciting vegan fare at €10 for both a starter and a main course. On Thursdays you can get a bowl of mussels and a beer for €10 too.

4. Buy one, get one free at Hillbilly’s
Listen, whether you’re ten pints in or not, the original snack box is still the best. Better yet, Hillbilly’s will hand you two for the price of one at the Grand Parade counter every Tuesday.

5. Pizza and a Pint at Rising Sons
Available any day of your choosing from Sunday to Thursday, Rising Sons’ excellent Pizza & Pint deal is easy on the pocket at €12. The special pie this week is a cream-cheese stuffed crust pizza with chilli beef, jalapeños and mozzarella cheese, alongside a hearty pint of award-winning Midaza stout. Not bad for a work night, hah?

6. The Ramen ‘6 Before 6’
Where: Anglesea Street, Carey’s Lane, Dennehy’s Cross and online
