5 neat Cork fixer-uppers that are all UNDER €100k

A little elbow grease goes a long way.
Property prices are on the rise throughout Cork, but there’s still plenty of value to be had for those willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.
Of course, a fixer-upper is a much better prospect if you’re handy yourself, but there’s no shortage of tutorials on everything from tiling to flooring online if you’re brave enough for a spot of DIY.
Here are five promising fixer-uppers that you can turn into your own piece of paradise for under €100k.
1. Evergreen Street, Cork City
Asking price: €90,000
If you’d like a city centre pad without the rising rents, this Evergreen Street one-bedroom could be the solution. A trip to IKEA would furnish it and it even has a small L-shaped study – all a short stroll from town.
2. Inchamore, Coolea, Macroom
Asking price: €80,000
Always fancied having a go at life in the country? This traditional three-bedroom farmhouse is about 5km north of Coolea village. The property, which is accessed via a laneway through a wooded area is recognised as one of the highest houses in Ireland. There’s a modern kitchen but many of the original cottage features have been preserved.
3. Ballybride Lower, Conna
Asking price: €85,000
This cute cottage is in need of renovation, but double glazed windows and doors have been fitted. It currently has one bedroom and one bathroom (on one acre with road frontage) with a large yard and shed to the rear.
4. Pier Cottage, Midleton
Asking price: €100,000
This pretty East Ferry property is all about the views. With two bedrooms and picturesque views over East Ferry Harbour, it also has a converted attic with en-suite and a utility room. With a little TLC the decking could be restored to its former glory – imagine the summer barbecues.
5. Main Street, Mallow
Asking price: €100,000
This handsome street front property is in need of some serious refurbishment and modernisation, but a canny buyer with a bit put away for renovations would net themselves a five bedroom period home. Inside there’s a study, two sitting rooms and a kitchen with a good sized back yard.
