4,000 pubs to reopen across Ireland as outdoor hospitality resumes
Where will you be celebrating?
After almost six months in something just short of a full-blown lockdown, Ireland takes a leap towards normalcy today as thousands of pubs and restaurants reopen for outdoor drinks and dining.
We expect just about all of Cork to be buzzing later on as people safely enjoy themselves outdoors.
Best of luck to all staff back moro @corkcitycentre as outdoor dining, gyms & cinemas open up… 😅
And big thanks to @corkcitycouncil & @CorkCityFire teams who did Trojan work to help bring @CorkPrinces to another level 👏@CBA_cork @CorkChamber pic.twitter.com/1j7bJQ1IUK

Pádraig Cribben of the Vintner’s Federation of Ireland said: “It’s a big day for the pub trade as 4,000 pubs are set to reopen for outdoor service. There is a strong sense of anticipation among publicans to get open and get back to what they do best. The message from publicans to old regulars and new customers alike is ‘we’ve missed you and welcome back.’
“The reopening for outdoor service will also see 25,000 staff return to work after an horrendous 15 months. Last year’s numerous lockdowns and partial reopening played havoc with their lives so it’s important staff have confidence that we are now on the path to a full reopening.”
What a week it’s been for us. We love our new parasols. I feel very proud of the collective effort by all our traders on what we feel is the best street in the WORLD 🥰😎🙏🏼😅👍🏼 #EatShopEnjoy #EatOnTheStreet pic.twitter.com/WMMFxJpSqP

Indoor trading is currently scheduled to resume on 5 July, although this is contingent on the country keeping close control of its Covid 19 cases.
