4 lovely local Gaza fundraising events to go along to in July

By Yay Cork July 10, 2025July 10, 2025

Every euro you give saves lives.

Right now, vital causes are working tirelessly on the ground in Gaza, facing immense challenges to deliver aid.

This month, several Cork businesses are stepping up to host crucial fundraising events, offering you a direct way to make an immediate, tangible difference.

An Open Mic at Tom Barry’s

Up on Barrack Street, Tom Barry’s is hosting an Open Mic for Palestine on Thursday, July 24th at 8.30pm. The organisers are planning a night of music, poetry, and spoken word to raise funds for the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).

“The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening by the day.” say the organisers.

“Thousands of children are in desperate need of medical care, food, clean water, and psychological support. The PCRF is a non-political, non-profit organisation that has been providing urgent aid to Palestinian children for over 30 years — and right now, they need our help more than ever.”

“If you can’t make it on the night, or would like to support from afar, you can donate directly through this page.” the added.

Yoga, Ice Cream and Coffee in Carrigaline

A selection of Cork businesses are joining forces to host a special Hope for Gaza event in aid of The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund this Saturday, July 12th.

Diane Macilwraith will be hosting an afternoon of yoga before a craft knitting class with Night Knitter, all served up with great coffee from Crúca Coffee and ice cream from Coolmore Farmhouse.

The event will run from 2pm until 4.30pm in the beautiful setting of Coolmore Farm in Carrigaline. Tickets are €10 on the day if you can go along and support or donate online here.

One Plate for Palestine

One Plate for Palestine, started by Barbara Nealon from St Francis Provisions, Kinsale and Beverley Mathews from L’Atitude 51 in Cork City is underway, with a slew of Cork businesses already signed up to add one Palestinian-inspired dish to their menu and donate all the sales to the cause.

Diva Boutique Baker in Ballinspittle, St Francis Provisions, The Black Pig and Seeds Bakery in Kinsale, MacCurtain Wine Cellar, L’Attitude 51, The Bookshelf in Cork City, and Monks Lane in Timoleague have all confirmed they will take part, with many more spots adding their support daily.

“We’re inviting our friends and colleagues in Irish food and hospitality businesses — restaurants, cafés, bars, food trucks, market stalls, and anywhere else that serves up food — from all over the country to join us from Monday, July 22nd to Sunday, July 27th in adding a special Palestinian-themed dish to your menu with all funds raised from the sale of that dish going to the One Plate for Palestine fundraiser.” the organisers explained.

All you have to do is pop in and order something delicious from the special menu.
