3 Valentine’s nights out you might actually want to go to

Not expecting much from the postman this year?
While all the loved-up couples are busy feeding each other grapes in jacuzzis and whatnot, town will be turned into a playground for singletons for on Valentine’s week.
There’s every kind of shindig happening, so don’t worry if the traditional blind date or singles night is not your cup of tea.
If anything it’s a nice excuse to get off Tinder and meet some new faces for a night. Play your cards right and you might even get the shift…
1. DATING AGAINST HUMANITY
Happening: The Franciscan Well, Thursday February 14th, 7pm
Hoping to find someone as terrible as you are? If so, Cards Against Humanity Speed Dating might be your best shot. On the night, groups will be split into teams of eight to play a few rounds of the game and get to know each other. Each group will have 10 minutes per table before moving on to start a new round.
The ticket price (€10 here) includes a drink and pizza after the game so there’s plenty of time to mingle.
2. BEOURS DYKE NIGHT
Happening: Abbot’s Ale House, Saturday, February 16th, 2019, 8:30pm
In the market for a Valentine of your very own? Beours is a safe, private pub night for lesbians and other women in the heart of Cork City. Check their events page for details.
3. THE DISCO FOR DOG LOVERS
Happening: The Imperial Hotel, Saturday, February 16th.
Crimp your hair and dig out your leg warmers, because retro fans from all walks of life will be hitting the dance floor at The Imperial Hotel on Saturday, February 16th.
Whether you’re loved up or single, one a first date or on a night out with your work colleagues, DJ Dan is guaranteed to have you shaking your stuff all night long.
The best bit? All money raised through ticket sales goes to Cork Dog Action Welfare (DAWG), who rescue and rehome Cork’s abandoned and abused animals.
Tickets, including a glass of bubbles and finger food, are available to book here.
