3 Cork City homes with hidden charm (and private courtyards) to view this week

By Yay Cork February 9, 2026

Never judge a book by its cover.

Especially when you’re house hunting in Cork, which these days can feel a bit like competitive sport — slightly stressful, and not for the faint-hearted.

With prices continuing to climb and supply still tight, even seasoned browsers know that spotting real value (or a bit of breathing space) takes patience and luck in equal measure. Still, every now and then, a few gems do pop up. This week, we’ve picked out three Cork City homes with hidden charm — and yes, even private courtyards — that might just make the search feel worthwhile again.

9 Waggett’s Lane, Popes Quay, Cork City Centre, T23T6CR

Asking price: €245,000

This two-bedroom, three-bathroom home is tucked away on an historic laneway in a quiet setting just off Pope’s Quay. The property was completely renovated in 2006, at which time a new roof, plumbing and electrics were installed.

Bigger and brighter than it appears once you step inside, the accommodation extends to approximately 100 sq. m. and is laid out over three floors, with a private, low-maintenance paved courtyard off the kitchen.

10 Windsor Cottages, Ballyhooly Road, St. Lukes, Co. Cork, T23TC5R

Asking price: €275,000

This colourful two-bedroom, one-bathroom end-of-terrace dates from around 1850 but was modernised in the late 1990s.

A five-minute walk from trendy St Luke’s Cross, inside there’s a reception hallway, study/home office, a living room plus an extension offering a kitchen, rear hall and bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs the property offers two spacious double bedrooms.

Out the back there’s a leafy patio area and a small courtyard.

5 Westview, Boreenmanna Road, Ballinlough, Co. Cork, T12A2Y2

Asking price: €315,000

A sweet two-bedroom townhouse located only a short walk to Cork city centre, Ballinlough, the Marina Market, and a selection of primary and secondary schools, local shops and bars, 5 Westview is a gem for anyone looking for a fully decorated turnkey home.

The ground floor consists of a two reception rooms, kitchen and a utility room , while the first floor comprises of two double bedrooms and a stylish shower room.

An enclosed southwest facing patio area out back is ideal for summer barbecues and bike storage.
