10 new additions to the Cork Podcast Festival line-up

It just gets better and better.
Cork’s first podcast festival takes place in a selection of cool venues this October, and with Blind Boy, the West Cork Podcast, Taranoia: Live! and Unexplained already on the bill, they’ve just announced a host of other cool ‘casts to watch live.
Comedian Alison Spittle sits down for a chin wag with Ireland’s finest mouths in front of a live audience at Cork’s newly reopened Kino on Friday, October 11th.
A showcase of truly countercultural ideas, ‘Against Everyone with Conner Habib’, is hosted by the only gay porn star writer philosopher occultist alive on Saturday, October 12th, 2019.
Later, Those Conspiracy Guys will be discussing all types and genres of conspiracy theories, paranormal happenings and true crime, from werewolves and vampires to CIA assassins and Russian spies.
On Sunday, October 13th, The Mothers of Pod will be discussing the highs and lows of parenting and Jen O’Dwyer, Cassie Delaney and Sophie White will present The Creep Dive, reporting on the lesser known details of the bizarre stories that made the headlines.
The Irish music scene will be throughly dissected and discussed with three live podcasts from The Irish Music Industry Podcast, The Point of Everything and Nialler9 – all of these are free of charge.
You can meet the makers of The Independent Music Podcast hosted by Anthony Chambers and Gareth Main free of charge at Plugd on Saturday, October 12th, 6.30pm too.
Over at The River Lee hotel, Cork author and journalist Caroline O’Donoghue will present Sentimental Garbage, featuring special guest Louise O’Neill.
Wander down to the Spailpín Fánach for conversations with musicians, artists, activists, and experts in Rebel Matters, presented by Belfast native, Ainle Ó Cairealláin and Motherfoclóir, presented by Darach, who will explore topics like how new words get added to the dictionary and which old words have fallen out.
Finally, ‘Up To 90’, the latest new podcast from Headstuff, featuring two of Ireland’s most exciting new comics, Emma Doran and Julie Jay will celebrate all the best stuff about the 90s.
At this rate we’ll need to take a week off work to prepare.
