We’re suckers for a good dinner deal ’round these parts, but this one had everyone in our office scrambling for our debit cards.
For a limited time only, the award-winning Greenes restaurant on MacCurtain Street are serving their 10-course tasting menu to hungry Cork foodies for €79 per table of two or €155 for a table of four.
The deal, which is open for booking now on LivingSocial.ie, involves plate after plate of delicious creations, all showcasing the best of local produce.
The dining adventure begins with Greenes Seasonal Snacks (pork belly, black pudding, apple, celeriac, cider, scurvy grass and common sorrel.
Next it’s a Lychee, Lime and Green Tea Espuma, before John Dory and Brown Shrimp served with sea vegetables, smoked sausage, dashi cream and pepper dulse.
A palate cleansing Gooseberry Sorbet with Buckler Sorrel is next, paving the way for Skeaghanore Duck with celeriac and organic Kilbrack farm vegetables.
Dessert is Bushby’s West Cork Strawberries with rhubarb, milk and elderflower before tea, coffee and petit fours (if you can fit them in).
No good meal is complete without a cheese course, and Greene’s diners will tuck into a dish of Young Buck Blue Cheese with pear, walnut, golden raisin, sorrel and Woodruff infused cream.
