Save the babysitting credit for a night out.

Parents can bring babies, toddlers and older kids to a weekly exercise class held in Mahon Point and Carrigaline so you don’t have to shell out for childcare when you’re trying to tone up.

Bumps and Babes hold ‘Bring Your Baby Fitness Class’ on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in two handy locations so you can work on your bod, stretch out and strengthen up while enjoying some adult conversation with other mums and dads.

Each class is suitable for all levels and all the equipment is provided, including baby gyms and mats. All you need to bring is something to keep your toddler occupied, some water and a towel.

‘Anything goes’

“Your child can be in their buggy, if that’s where they’re content, or they can use the gyms and mats provided in the middle of the room. We then do a circuit around the babies, so you can see them at all times. We finish on the mat and baby can stay where they are or lie next to you.” say Krissy, instructor and owner of Bumps and Babes Fitness.

“You would be surprised by how much toddlers and pre-schoolers love the class – they usually stroll around checking everything out and some of them follow mummy around and love trying to do the exercises with her.

“Feeding, nappy changing and nurturing in class is welcome – anything goes really – you can stop any time to tend to your baby in any way you need to.”

The class is €58 for a six-week pass and you can sign up and read more about it here.
