Yes, La Bougie’s new fragrances are as lush as their famous Kinsale-made candles

Their candles are iconic.
Now fragrance fans can enjoy some of La Bougie’s key scents all day long with a transportive spritz (or six) throughout the day.
Inspired by Kinsale-based perfumer Lucy Hagerty’s family home in the Italian countryside and her years living near the Indian Ocean, the La Bougie Eau de Parfum collection has landed and every bottle in the four-piece collection offers a heady blast of summer holiday heaven.
It’s the latest flurry of excitement in what has already been a big year for the homegrown business, which opened in Kinsale in 2012 and is one of the fastest-growing luxury brands in Ireland.
Now stocked globally, La Bougie recently opened its first bricks and mortar boutique in Lymington, UK to service a growing post-Brexit UK market and in March, YJA Yachtsman of the Year Hattie Rogers was unveiled as their debut brand ambassador.
The scent of summer
At €60 for the large size and €18 for a pocket-friendly travel bottle, the new Eau de Parfum range is well-priced for gifting (or self-gifting) and while the collection is small, there’s a tempting option in there for everyone.
Pomegranate Noir wearers will adore La Bougie’s Misson Fig, a modern scent with notes of parched earth, fig leaves, and blonde wood inspired by an old gnarled fig tree in Lucy’s family home in Tuscany.
Tuscan Bergamot evokes early mornings on the Loggia with garden aromas of sage and lavender, while Black Current Leaf is a blast of jasmine, cassis, and musk for summer nights out.
If you’re packing a suitcase for a beach break, La Bougie’s Coconut & Hibiscus Eau de Parfum is the one to pop in your checked luggage; the notes of salted coconut, jasmine and ylang-yang will bring back holiday memories forever.
Curious? You can try the La Bougie Eau de Parfum collection at Brown Thomas Cork, Meadows and Byrne, and Kilkenny Design or order online.
