Wet AND windy? The weekend weather is not looking too good…

It’s hardly surprising at this stage.
While we have enjoyed the odd sliver of late summer sunshine this week, it’s been mostly grey skies and showers.
Now Met Éireann is predicting the weekend won’t be much better, with heavy downpours, thunder and a temperature drop in store before Sunday.
Today will start mainly dry with sunny spells and just isolated showers. The showers will become more widespread this afternoon and evening, with some heavy and thundery bursts. Top temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees. pic.twitter.com/Qm7UbOx2q2

According to the national forecaster, tomorrow, Thursday will be a mainly dry day “with just a few isolated showers and good sunny spells at first”.
Top temperatures will range between 18 and 21 degrees.
Things will take a turn for the worse on Thursday night, when a spell of heavy rain over the south will bring thundery downpours that will last into Friday morning.
Scattered showers are expected throughout Friday, some heavy or prolonged with the risk of thundery downpours.
Gah.
But wait, there’s more! Saturday will be windy with scattered showers and sunny spells, with temperatures expected to drop to between 15C and 19C by Sunday.
